In today’s inclusive classrooms, general education teachers in Science and Social Studies are often expected to meet the needs of students with disabilities—without the daily presence of a special education teacher. These students may have IEPs that include accommodations such as read-aloud supports, chunked tasks, reduced assignments, or behavior intervention strategies. Many teachers, however, feel underprepared to implement these accommodations effectively, and administrators are seeking guidance on how to support them.

This professional learning session is designed specifically for administrators. It will provide school leaders with the knowledge, tools, and practical strategies needed to support general education teachers in delivering accessible instruction in Science and Social Studies. Participants will learn how to build systems of support, promote inclusive best practices, and leverage school-based resources to ensure that students with disabilities can meaningfully engage in content learning—even when they don’t receive direct special education services in those classes.
